Nudie Jeans Recycled Denim

Are you looking to get creative with left over jeans that don’t fit or you don’t want?
In 2009 Nudie Jeans Company held a competition where 4 Chicago designers had to take their jeans and re-construct them into ‘new’ garments using the theme “Rockabilly Blues”
I made a dress and flower hair pin with the blue denim and a ‘tattoo’ motorcycle jacket with the black denim.
It took 22 pairs of jeans to create this look!

I lined the halter part of the dress with a handkerchief cotton print

For the motorcycle jacket I cut out a heart and a swallow bird and beaded them with crystal beads and topstitched the seams with red metallic thread and lined the jacket with a cherry cotton print. 12635_178805509973_1018667_n12635_178805524973_1558611_n12635_178805529973_4573190_n12635_178805534973_1856541_n12635_178805539973_861471_n12635_178805549973_5509065_n12635_178805654973_1757477_n
I hope this inspires you to create ‘new’ garments and feel free to share your creations 🙂
